Since 1774, Hartford Public Library has been a leader in redefining the urban library experience, gaining recognition for diverse initiatives and community focused programs.
Kicking off 2024 with an anniversary older than the United States itself, the library celebrates with a new brand identity that draws inspiration from the capital's history, and reflects the community and its values.

Research Methods and Design Process:
This project began with on-site research and archival reference gathering, informed by Hartford’s rich literary and civic history. The design process included multiple rounds of community engagement, visual exploration, and typographic refinement. Special attention was given to honouring the legacy of public access and storytelling through a clean, accessible identity system.
